“This is a fantastic occasion for Porsche in Hong Kong, as we move to this wonderful new showroom and celebrate the arrival of the new 911 Turbo,” said Derek Tong, General Manager of Porsche Centre Hong Kong and Macau.

He continued: “There is no doubt that with the opening of this new facility, Porsche will continue to go from strength to strength, carrying on the commitment to our many valued customers."

The new enlarged space can house seven cars and offers the full range of Porsche services. On the night they used the area to put on a rare display of the 911 Turbo Generations, with 911 Turbo models from each of the 964, 993, 996 and the new 997 series on show.

Guests and speakers at the event included the Director of Sales of Porsche AG, Dr. Andreas Offermann, and the primary partner of Porsche China and investor in Porsche Centre Hong Kong, Mr. Hans Michael Jebsen.

Compared with its predecessor, the new 911 Turbo offers improved performance accompanied by vastly lower fuel consumption and significantly less exhaust emissions. To be specific, the new top-of-the-range Porsche production sports car consumes up to 16 per cent less fuel, develops 20 bhp more power, delivers 30 Nm/22 lb-ft more torque, and accelerates up to 8 per cent faster.

The enhanced turbo-charged 3.8 litre engine with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) and Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) can produce 500bhp, propelling the vehicle to 100km/h in only 3.4 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 312km/h.

Mr. Helmut Broeker, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche (China) Motors Ltd., explained the importance of the occasion: "Porsche has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the city of Hong Kong for almost 55 years. The local launch of the new Porsche 911 Turbo in 25 Porsche Centres across mainland China is ongoing, and reflects our commitment to developing the very best in sports car technology for Porsche owners across China.”
