If you're looking to buy a dream ski chalet, then you can take inspiration from Odin House on the Northen Island of Hokkaido, Japan, a snow-capped hideaway that is utterly sublime.

Combining Scandinavian style with Japanese design, the L-shaped property contains four bedrooms, two balconies, a ski room and garage.

On top of those basics, the 545-square meter space offers various premium facilities such as a gym, a traditional Japanese ‘hinoki’ (cypress) jaccuzzi, a personal elevator and staff quarters.

The standout feature though is perhaps the large Japanese-style 'Onsen' bath. Fed by a hot spring, it can be obscured from view by simply pressing a switch which turns the glass from translucent to opaque.

Another very appealing touch lies in the living room. The fireplace is suspended 4.5
metres off the ceiling and is made out of blackened steel.

Meanwhile the upper floor is wrapped in extensive glazing, allowing the entire living room to face Mt. Yotei, an extinct volcano tha
t towers at 1,898m and dominates the horizon. The largest glass panel weighs more than 570 kg and had to be lifted in
to
place by a crane and 20 workers.

Odin House is
located in the ski resort of Niseko, Hirafu.
