Based on the similarly
upgraded SLK 55 AMG Formula 1 safety car, the series racecar itself
has been suitably upgraded for racing duty, with braking, suspension,
and cooling systems beefed up to cope with the extreme temperatures
of tropical weather. With its 360 horsepower V8 motor, the regular
SLK 55 AMG is already a formidable road car, but the stiffened,
lightened track variant will be even more of a weapon on the circuit.
Despite not being street-legal,
in response to the excitement surrounding
the Event Series, Mercedes-AMG does plan to launch a limited-edition
road-going model based on the SLK 55 AMG “Ultimate Experience
Asia” track car in the near future.
