This is a narrower version of the Nautilus, with a 38.4 mm width across the hinges. But like its bigger brother, it too is a millimeter wider than its predecessor, which was called the Ref. 3800/1 A. The width of this watch makes it ideal for both men of slighter constitution, as well as women who enjoy wearing slightly larger watches.

The Ref. 5800/1 is the only new Nautilus that still has a two-part case, but it also features a sapphire-crystal case-back. This necessitates that the movement be fitted from the dial side, resulting in a split winding stem. The movement is the mechanical Patek Philippe caliber 330 SC, which also provides a date counter.

The Ref. 5800/1 is available in a stainless steel case and integrated stainless steel bracelet with a fold-over clasp. Like the Ref. 5711/1, the outer links of the bracelet are satin-finished, while the middle links are polished.
