Fancy looking out the window of a tall tower and being swept away by views of the sun-drenched and star-lit skies of Bangkok city? You’re in luck: The Lebua is located within the 65-level State Tower – the second tallest building in Thailand – where high-speed elevators whisk you away to a luxuriously appointed suite in the blink of an eye.

All suites display impeccable taste, from the sophisticated Bvlgari amenities to the contemporary interiors that blend modern art with traditional hues. The effect is a sense of being at the crossroads of the past and the present, also reflected in the hotel’s location at the corner of two historic roads.

While still a fairly recent addition to the Thai luxury hotel market, the Lebua has already earned itself the distinction of being the country’s only establishment to win Condé Nast Traveler recognition for its restaurants. In fact, The Dome restaurants are reputed for their exciting range of gastronomic adventures.

The dramatic Breeze restaurant on the 52nd level serves Asian-style seafood on a glass sky-bridge complete with a city-viewing gallery. Sirocco on the 63rd is the world’s highest al fresco restaurant and titillates the taste buds with quality Mediterranean fare while you swoon to live jazz music in the middle of the sky. Take your pick of Iranian Beluga Caviar, Balik Salmon, or French Fines de Claires Oysters at Distil Bar on the 64th, or pop up a level to the Mezzaluna for a slice of Italy. Watch the chefs whipping up delectable pasta dishes through an open kitchen while you contemplate the Chao Phraya River to the strains of the resident quartet.
