For Couach, customization isn't just a matter of adding some superficial decorative touches; it encompasses the entire interior design and configuration.
Even the number, features and location of the cabins can be adjusted to suit an owner's wishes, making every 3700 completely unique.
"The 3700 is intended for what we call 'real boat lovers'. These are the kind of people who enjoy 'working' on the design of their very own yacht
in order to create something that is totally exclusive to them, and different from the other boats berthed alongside it at their club," Besson explains.
This is achieved by what he describes as a "knowledge process" between Couach and the client. Couach will help him to define how he will use the boat,
his lifestyle and his wishes. Taking all these factors into account, the company will then propose a bespoke interior.
According to Besson, the first 3700 was delivered to its owner, a Greek boat lover, in May 2007. Its Cannes debut created a flurry of interest around
the Mediterranean, and three more – all for European clients – are now under construction at the company's yard in Archaron Bay, in the
south west of France.
"Couach yachts are mainly developed for the European market, and they have a nice and distinctively French style. But I have chosen to work with the
company because it wasn't previously represented in Asia, and I am convinced it offers the region's enthusiasts a real alternative to other brands," says
Besson.
"Couach completely rejects standardization and uniformity. This is unusual and it aligns perfectly with the Asian mindset, which demands tailor-made
products that are designed and customized for every client. I have no doubt the 3700 will make an impact in the region very soon," he adds.
