In our previous article, we included a Reverso from Jaeger-LeCoultre for those with a taste for rectangular watches. Like that watch, this one uses
the unique properties of the Reverso's reversible case to feature additional complications. Unlike the earlier piece, the Squadra is square and features
a world time mechanism, not a second time zone.
Black ceramic debuts for the first time in the Reverso with this model, combining with either pink gold or titanium. With titanium, the case represents
an incredibly robust proposition, with the ceramic portion being twice as hard as steel while being considerably lighter. The movement allows the watch
to act as a chronograph and a 24 time zone world timer, one on each face of the watch.
The placement of the world time on the second face of the watch removes the immediacy of the world time feature but it offers one more options to
engage with the watch. Interestingly, the watch allows all indications, except the chronograph, to be handled via the crown. This means setting the
time for this world timer is just as easy as with a GMT watch. A second point of interest is that the rotor is visible via the caseback, without interfering
with either the world time display or its function.
Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre achieves this feat by using a gear transmission system that literally circumvents the oscillating rotor while still allowing
the rotor and movement to show on the caseback. This being a polo watch, a closer look at the world time display shows that some cities have been replaced
with the locations of major polo tournaments
