Few of man's creations can compare to the achievement that is the Pagani Zonda supercar. Built without compromise from scratch, the Zonda manages to be utterly bespoke, flamboyant, and extreme – without resorting to gimmickry in the form of outlandish power output figures. Bentley's Continental GT remains one of the world's most desired coupes, not least because it sports a massive 552 horsepower, twin-turbo W12 motor capably harnessed by all-wheel drive. It also weighs more than your house, which gives it that unmistakable big car, big motor, big power feel. It also happens to sound amazing, so to turn it into a convertible, as in the GTC version, is to turn it into a great big hunk of Grand Touring heaven.

Lamborghini has had an amazing year, with the Gallardo becoming its most successful model ever. It's hard not to see why, as it combines those signature Italianate design cues with compactness, accessibility, and utter desirability – not to mention its blaring V10 beast of a motor, with over 500 horsepower. For the Spyder version, just multiply the drama by a factor of about ten, and you'll be somewhere close to the thrills available to you with the top down. It may not be the most sophisticated driving experience money can buy, but it is damn near the most exciting.
