The name Hautlence is an anagram of “Neuchâtel”, the Swiss town once considered the capital of the watchmaking world, and which the brand calls its home. With a strong personality, and a fresh take on haute horlogerie, this fledgling brand is fast making a name for itself as a quality watchmaker.

Conceived from technical drawings, the hand-wound movement is the centerpiece of these novel designs, with its distinctive cannon pinion and connecting rod. It has a modern jumping hour disc instead of hands, which helps negate inaccuracies borne of inertia, and combines this with a retrograde minute display for classic technical appeal.

Ultimately, it looks like nothing else, and very handsome too, and that will be enough for the brand's growing number of fans. Available in either pink gold or gray gold, with a number of different colored dials, each combination is limited to just 88 pieces.

Jorg Hysek is a watchmaker whose distinctive vision has defined his eponymous brand. The modern aesthetic favored by Jorg Hysek is a big influence on the more complicated haute horlogerie watches made by his collaborative new offshoot, HD3, which is a partnership between Hysek, Valerie Ursenbacher, and Fabrice Gonet. With HD3's new Idalgo XT-2 timepiece, the brand embarks on a new era of watchmaking.

The unique, oscillating, dual rotary time-telling displays give the impression of the watch having two movements, although the XT-2 in fact uses just one caliber. One display shows a jumping hour rotating disc display and a retrograde minute hand, while the other displays a second time zone with a conventional hour hand. The transparent caseback reveals just a slice of the movement, to hint at the level of engineering and craftsmanship involved – over 2000 development hours went into creating the XT-2.

The watch is available in a number of finishes, with either a rose gold case, or titanium cases combined with platinum, white, or rose gold touches. All Idalgo XT-2s are limited to 33 pieces per finish, apart from the titanium/platinum combo which will number just 11 in total.
