Dedicated to Perfection - Review of the Vertu Ascent Racetrack Legends Limited Edition
Few companies in the world can lay claim to creating an entirely new product category from scratch. In the highly traditional luxury industry, this is especially rare. In 2002 however, the Nokia-linked company Vertu single-handedly brought into existence the luxury mobile phone with the exquisite Signature collection. A new category in the luxury tech market was born.
Frank Nuovo
At a time when mass-market mobiles were still competing to cram their products with as much functionality as possible, Frank Nuovo, previously the chief designer at Nokia, set a new standard with the Vertu, one more akin to luxury watches than consumer electronics.

Vertu phones are made to last, as highlighted by the strong focus on build quality and the use of advanced materials. Boasting Nuovo's award-winning sensibilities, a Vertu is also designed to be flaunted, a proud extension of its owner's personality.

The Ascent and the Racetrack Legends Collection

The Racetrack Legends Collection is a limited edition set of six Vertu phones from its motorsport-inspired Ascent Collection. The Ascent is Vertu’s second main collection after the Signature, and is noted for its solid construction as well as striking looks and colours.

Using any Vertu Ascent is intuitive, as the line's software is based on the standard-setting Nokia Series 40 platform with a customized interface. However, the Ascent stands out for its intricate combination of titanium, LiquidMetal, rubber and leather, integrated into a cohesive whole.

The Racetrack Legends raises the Ascent to another level, and this set of six pays homage to the famous racetracks of Silverstone, Monza, Le Mans, Indianapolis, Monaco and Nurburgring.

Four of these phones have already been released, so this review will cover the last two phones in the series, namely the Ascent Monaco and the Nurburgring limited editions.
