HOTEL ADLON KEMPINSKI BERLIN
77, Unter den Linden - 10117 BERLIN (Area: Berlin Mitte) - GermanyA high-class haven for lovers of tradition and for connoisseurs of hotels with an illustrious past, the Hotel Adlon Kempinski's emblematic location, exclusive comfort and perfect service make it one of the greats. In keeping with its stunning Baroque surroundings, the Hotel Adlon Kempinski is a sensual tour de force.
The public areas clearly seek to impress, starting with the grand lobby-lounge with its elephant fountain and stained-glass dome framed in 24-karat gold. The hotel was founded in 1907 by Lorenz Adlon, a successful Berlin wine merchant and restaurateur. One of the most famous hotels in Europe between the two World Wars, the Adlon hosted celebrities including Charlie Chaplin and Marlene Dietrich. It was left in ruins at the end of the Second World War but a new building based on the original was inaugurated in 1997.
Generosity and attention to details are the hallmarks of the Hotel Adlon’s guestrooms and suites. The rooms and suites, drenched in a palette of rich blues, reds and greens, drip opulence without ever being in danger of becoming too fussy or over-decorated.
True to its status, the hotel offers three superb restaurants: the renowned and Michelin-starred Lorenz Adlon which specializes in French Haute Cuisine; the Restaurant Quarré, where you can try innovative regional cuisine whilst contemplating stunning views of the Brandenburg Gate; and, last but not least, the elegant Lobby Lounge & Bar.
Finally, the hotel's wellness facilities: the Adlon Day Spa features a breathtaking architectural design and provides a wide array of treatments. You will also find a pool and gym in the basement of the hotel which is open daily from 6.30 am to 10.00 pm.
One of the things that makes the Adlon so unique is the special aura of its location on Pariser Platz directly by the Brandenburg Gate and Unter den Linden. Important sights nearby include Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s masterpiece "Neue Wache" (New Watchhouse) built in 1817, now the National War Memorial, the Berlin State Opera, and many other famous sights.
