Singapore Airlines (SIA) took delivery of the Airbus 380 yesterday. And as of this writing, the world’s biggest passenger jet in civil aviation history would have landed at Singapore’s Changi International Airport after its inaugural 13-hour flight from Toulouse, France.

The A380 is capable of carrying up to 853 passengers but SIA has chosen to install just 471 seats to offer more space. The superjumbo jet boasts 12 private suites, each embellished with 23-inch flat-screen television, a real bed with full-size mattress and sheets by Givenchy. The business class area will also feature the largest business seat of any airline at 87 cm across.

The price for such in-flight luxury on the Singapore-Sydney route will set you back 8,000 euros (US$11,344), that is, about 1,000 euros per hour of flying, according to AFP. End of Article
