Despite their dramatic sale by Ford and the demise of their flawed but fabulous Vanquish, Aston Martin have been hard at work readying the DBS that was previewed in the last James Bond movie. To the delight of enthusiasts everywhere, the production DBS stays true to its DB9-but-macho looks, which is saying a lot. Based on the DB9’s VH platform, the DBS has the same breathtakingly rapid V12 engine, but which sports a new intake system to boost power past the magic 500bhp mark. Weight is reduced by the use of carbon fiber which should mean the DBS is very much the focused driver’s car that its 6-speed manual gearbox, 20-inch wheels, and carbon-ceramic brakes hint at.
