The Frankfurt auto show is displaying a veritable bumper crop of sports saloons this year, and top of the heap has to be the slightly alarming RS6 Avant from Audi - a company that has been very busy this year. Its bulging wheel arches hint at the tremendous power up front, with the Lamborghini-related V10 now sporting twin turbochargers and a Murciélago-equalling 580 horses, channeled through all four wheels via a 40:60 front/rear torque split. Spy video has shown RS6 prototypes being flung impressively hard through the Nürburgring’s challenging corners, and with the now-defunct RS4 already such an impressive driving tool the RS6 promises to be a particularly excellent, and potent, drive.
