First acclaimed for their innovative tube amps built especially for use with iPods, hi-fi newcomers Fatman have shown their flagship valve amp for more serious
high-fidelity audio, the aptly-titled iTube Mothership. With self-proclaimed attributes being its “stellar, stunning awesomeness,” it would be easy to dismiss this as gimmickry. However, their track record with producing top-notch sound warrants a second look, particularly as Mothership’s 200W, twin-monoblock Engineroom power amps (mated to a Controlroom pre-amp) bode well for a warm blend of punch and control.
