The world's first V8 hybrid car has finally gone on sale. Instead on focusing on outright economy, however, the super-luxurious LS600h L from Lexus uses its supplementary electric generators for increased power output. Already an effortlessly powerful limousine, the LS 600h L gets the added benefit of totally silent motivation from its batteries, which combined with the 5.0 V8 up front give it over 430 horsepower, similar to the bigger V12s of its class bretheren. All the toys are present: heated-and-cooled, reclining individual rear seats, a Mark Levinson 450-watt stereo, and a voice-activated hard-drive based satellite navigation system. All this performance and luxury doesn't come cheap however, as the price of the LS 600h L in the US has been announced at just over $100,000.
