Maurice Lacroix claim to have invented the first ever "memory" function in a mechanical watch, seen in this teaser shot. This completely new grand complication - housed in the new ML 128 movement with 537 components - will be shown in a brand new Mémoire 1 chronograph watch at next year's Basel fair.

The memory function works as follows: pressing the button integrated into the crown changes the mode from "time" to "chrono", and the hour-display disc and minute-and-seconds hands change their positions; this is pretty normal for a stopwatch. However, here is where it gets interesting: while the chronograph function is still running, it is possible to shift between modes without losing the information provided by either. End of Article
