For the first time in Asia, Professor Peter Pfeiffer, Vice President for Design, Daimler AG and his design team, are in Singapore to conduct a Mercedes-Benz design workshop for budding designers from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). Entitled "Design With A Heritage", this workshop gives Mercedes-Benz designers a platform to interact with design students, media, Mercedes-Benz customers and members of the public.
A month before this workshop, Daimler South East Asia partnered NAFA in
a project for a group of NAFA students, the institution’s first foray
into design based on an automotive and transportation theme. Based on
the theme "Experiencing the Brand: Mercedes-Benz", students come up
with their own creations in a design contest judged by Mr Pfeiffer and
senior executives from the Daimler AG. In addition, Mercedes-Benz has
lined up a two-day open house for members of the public, which includes
seminars, exhibition and clay-modeling demonstrations.
