These DuPont™ Corian® chairs with their towering backrests change color according to the color of the clothing the person sitting on it is wearing. Called "By Royal Appointment", these 'chameleon' chairs by London-based German designer Moritz Waldemeyer, the same designer that gave us the futuristic Z. Island Kitchen for Zaha Hadid, laser-emitting fashion wear for Hussein Chalayan, text-displaying 'Lolita' and 'Miss Haze' chandeliers for Swarovski, and the LED-embedded Pong and Roulette tables.

"By Royal Appointment" Chairs

This time, Waldemeyer has created chairs that resemble medieval thrones befitting of kings. A sensor in the back of the chair reads the color and uses LED lights to project it onto the surface behind. The overall effect is a halo of colored light surrounding the person, as if he or she is emanating their personal aura. The holes on the backrest of the chair increase in size as you go higher up, creating an illusion of the chair 'dissolving' into thin air against the colored light. End of Article
