Officine Panerai has released its first official
Manifattura tourbillon watch, the Panerai Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT. (The first tourbillon by Panerai was a special edition Radomir Tourbillon PAM 77, limited to 2 pieces.) Housing an exclusive P.2005 caliber movement, Panerai created the movement and watch entirely in-house. The oscillation of the tourbillon escapement is not visible on the dial but can be seen via the sapphire crystal caseback. Only a small blue dot on the seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, and the continuous seconds hand indicate the tourbillon function. The other sub-dial at 3 o’clock has a hand that makes a complete rotation in 24 hours, and indicates AM or PM. The Panerai 1950 Tourbillon GMT is produced in a numbered limited edition of 100.
