The Only Watch 2007 auction to
benefit research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy was completed recently at the
Monaco Yacht Show. The top-valued watch was the
Patek
Philippe Nautilus pièce unique, which went for a staggering
half-million euros – €525,000 to be exact. Second place went to DeWitt’s Incognito 2008 watch, which was not even
displayed at the show – making it the highest price ever paid sight-unseen for
a watch at auction. Designed in conjunction with Jean-Michel Wilmotte,
Incognito will no doubt impress its new owner next year with its flying
tourbillon regulator and 21-day power reserve, for which €400,000 was paid. Third place went to this superb-looking
Richard Mille and Philippe Starck creation, which went for €320,000.
