Acknowledged by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest swimming pool, the San Alfonso del Mar resort in Algarrobo, Chile, easily draws eyeballs with its seemingly endless stretch of crystal-clear blue water. Stretching more than one kilometer over an area of 8 hectares, this artificial lagoon created by Crystal Lagoons easily dwarfs the next biggest pool at the Orthlieb (measuring 150m x 100 m) in Casablanca, Morocco. Helmed by Chilean businessman, Fernando Fischmann, this resort represents Crystal Lagoons’ maiden venture, using a patented technology to "harvest, filter and permanently recirculate ocean water".

This gigantic lagoon holds 2.5 million liters of water, up to a depth of 35 meters. Guests at the resort will not only enjoy breathtaking vistas from the balconies of their pyramid-shaped apartments, but also enjoy a host of watersport activities. Replete with white sand beaches, palm trees and ocean docks, this truly is paradise on earth. End of Article
