World Gourmet Summit Celebrates 20 Years

Fine dining, excellent wines and unique cuisines make the World Gourmet Summit (WGS), and all 20 years of it. To celebrate in style, the most talked about gastronomic event has chosen Singapore as its vanguard, and will be featuring a star-studded, world class cast including international experts and Singapore’s very own culinary talents. World-renowned Michelin-starred chefs will also be making an appearance, including Yoshinori Ishii, Javier Aranda, Nacho Manzano, Takagi Kazuo and Arnaud Bignon.

The event will also feature menus by premium dining establishments from Singapore, while the year’s best hospitality and culinary stars will be revealed in the Awards of Excellence 2016.

Peter A. Knipp, CEO of PKH Pte Ltd, will be managing and curating this year’s World Gourmet Summit event.

“The last two decades have seen so many changes in Singapore’s food landscape and we are extremely proud to have contributed to its evolution. Coming into our 20th year is a major achievement for the World Gourmet Summit, with the real heroes being our local talents who have made a name for themselves both here in Singapore and abroad,” he said.

The Summit will also be featuring an assortment of culinary workshops among its many events, including Le 3 Mamme Dinner, National Kidney Foundation Charity Gala Dinner, St. Moritz Champagne Topless Club and WGS 20 Best Chefs.

On April 2, look out for Violet Oon and Lynnette Seah who will play host to A Culinary Symphony with Austrian Wines, and Chope Presents Timeless 30s on Hong Kong Street on April 3 for a back alley block party featuring a night of food, fun and cocktails under the stars.

For WGS ticket holders, expect a lucky draw prize featuring a Gourmet Trails luxury getaway for two to Tokyo, Japan. The prize includes a personal chauffeur, accommodation for two nights, and a fully paid omakase dinner in a world-class restaurant featured in “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”. Ticket holders are also entitled to a private customized trip at $100 off, or a seasonal premium small group tour to the Gourmet Trails.

The World Gourmet Summit will run from March 28 to April 24. The event is sponsored by Air France, who will be flying the Summit’s distinguished guests to Singapore for the gastronomic extravaganza. Guests to the Summit also stand a chance to win a pair of the airline’s business class tickets.
