Krystian Zimerman
One of the great virtuosos of our time, Polish pianist Krystian Zimerman won the Chopin Piano Competition in 1975 at the age of eighteen, and, in celebration of Witold Lutoslawski's birth centenary, makes his SSO debut playing Lutoslawski's Piano Concerto, a work specially composed for him. The concert closes with Beethoven's Seventh, which remains one of the most popular masterpieces in the symphonic repertoire.
