Lauded for her imaginative and highly successful recordings, French pianist Hélène Grimaud makes her Singapore debut in this concert, partnering Lan Shui and the SSO in Brahms' First Piano Concerto, one of the towering peaks of the genre. Also in this concert are the Third Symphony by award-winning American composer Christopher Rouse and Strauss' tone poem Death and Transfiguration, an optimistic depiction of the death of an artist.
