Affectionately dubbed the "King of all Instruments", the grand organ has never ceased to amaze with its magnificent sound and charming delicacy. In this programme, the Cultural Centre’s 8,000-pipe organ take centre stage, played by one of the most acclaimed organists in the world, Simon Preston (above). A double bill of Poulenc and Saint-Saëns showcases the splendour of this amazing instrument to unforgettable effect. Retaining the French flavour of the programme, former HK Phil Music Director David Atherton has added a pair of works by Paul Dukas – La Péri Fanfare, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
The concert runs January 11-12, 2013.
