Proenza Schouler SS18: Ruffles, Mid-Drifts and Monochrome Androgyny at Paris Couture Week

Proenza Schouler unveiled its Spring Summer 2018 collection at the recent Paris Couture Week with a medley of ruffles, mid-drifts and monochrome androgyny. Ruffles cascade down the models with asymmetrical drapes and narrow skirts, as French craft reveal itself through layers of detail and master techniques. Summer heat subdues with a touch of cool monochrome, which made the recurring theme on strong shoulders and elongated jackets nipped at the waist. In a sea of black, white and pastels, a few floral jacquard coats and light, laced pieces balanced the serious note, and brought alive the tone of summer days with mid-drifts, flared trousers and strapping details.
