The Standout Streetstyle Looks From F/W’18 That Can Be Replicated In Singapore

Fashion week season has just ended, but we are still not done with sifting through the tons of looks streetstyle stars donned.

Usually, when it comes to streetstyle looks, they are nice to look at, but totally impossible to wear ourselves on a daily basis. They are either way too exaggerated (see fashion peacocking, for example), or can't be worn in Singapore's hot weather. However, we've managed to spot a few looks that are not only stylish, but also totally wearable on our sunny island. Here are our favourites:

#1: Fishnet, midi skirt and boots

Do like streetstyle star Chriselle Lim and do a crop top, midi skirt and boots combination. Take it up a notch by layering a fishnet top underneath to really make the outfit pop.

#2: Classic B&W

The timeless black and white colour palette will never go wrong. Add a contemporary twist by tucking in a white, structured blazer into loose, flowy black pants. Finish off the look with some statement accessories - a minimal belt, a nude clutch and a stylish pair of shades.

#3: Neutral shades

The trick to making neutral colours like black, white, brown, grey and navy look less boring is to wear pieces that have interesting silhouettes and shapes. For example, don a cropped jacket with a pair of high-waisted, straight cut pants. Elongate the legs even further by wearing with a pair of nude heels.

#4: Midi skirt and sneakers

streetstyleOkay, we know we are cheating a little - obviously, we can't wear a puffer jacket in Singapore. However, that aside, the outfit template of a midi skirt paired with sneakers always works. Complete with any top you like, and a nice little bag to go along.

streetstyle Fendi mesh sneakers, $945,

#5: Statement dress

There is arguably nothing easier than a statement dress that you can quickly slip on anytime. Dress it up or down with a variety of accessories, from eye-catching earrings to sky-high pumps.

streetstyle Fringe earrings with beads, $35.90, Mango

streetstyle Maryam Nassir Zadeh leather and plastic sandals, $605,

#6: Skirt suit

Nothing screams power like a skirt suit. A stylish, well-fitted and quality skirt suit can boost your confidence and make you feel like a queen. Want to go all out? Get one in a bold red shade and don the colour head to toe.

#7: Leather jacket and dress

One sure-fire way to add a bit of edge to a normal dress is to layer a leather jacket over it. Do this when you're in the cold office or hanging out somewhere with air condition, and just casually sling the jacket on your arm when it gets too hot. Either way, you're going to look A+.
