Outfitted with a Personal Touch

A newfound demand for bespoke aircraft interiors has resulted in an industry that is concentrating on private aircraft "completion centers"

To many, private jets are the ultimate personal status symbol, and like their affluent counterparts in the West and the Middle East, business leaders and the wealthy elite in China not only prefer traveling exclusively and hassle-free in their private aircraft, they are increasingly seeking customization to make their jets truly "private statements."

As private aviation becomes more popular in the China market, corporations and high net-worth individuals are willing to spend opulent amounts to ensure that their private jets will satisfy various personal requirements and tastes. This newfound demand for bespoke aircraft interiors has resulted in an industry that is concentrating research efforts on private aircraft "completion centers", where private jets are customized, comparable to automobile or motorcycle customization stores.

The emergence of professional completion centers is expected to raise the overall standard of private jet interior designs as more interior enhancement products are launched.

Due to the emergence and proliferation of business aircraft customization, global brands such as Versace, Edese Doret, BMW and Lufthansa Technik are creating new interior designs for business jets that are as lavish as they are functional. Eager to please, BMW Group adorned the Boeing 787 Dreamliner with a big screen theatre and a gourmet kitchen complete with a cocktail bar, complemented by two levels of living space that includes a built-in gymnasium.
