After announcing plans for a five-star boutique vineyard hotel in New Zealand, the latest addition to Langham Hotels International’s portfolio of luxury resorts is an all-villa boutique resort at Kalim Bay in Phuket.
Langham Place Miora Resort + Spa, Kalim Bay may sound like a mouthful but its location on a hilltop overlooking Kalim Bay and the Andaman Sea will leave guests open-mouthed at the pristine beauty before their eyes.
Comprising 78 villas and penthouses, with private plunge pools, the resort is designed by American architect Clint Nagata, who heads his own architectural firm, the Bangkok-based BLINK Design Group.
A signature feature of this luxurious sanctuary is a cantilevered swimming pool that not only hugs a hillside, it extends beyond it to create an infinity-style effect. Thu Chuan Spa directly below the pool is also one of the first in the world to adopt Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles in its range of spa treatments.
The resort is set to open in early 2010, and will spearhead Langham’s drive into Thailand with plans for four more resorts in The Land of Smiles within the next five years.
