Spelling "Manor" on the Market for US$150 Million


Candy Spelling, widow of the late producer Aaron Spelling, is putting up her husband’s luxurious Manor up for sale in the market. This is possibly the most expensive home for sale in the United States by far.

With a price tag of US$150 million, the three-storey French chateau-style mansion standing on 4.6 acres of land has a whopping built-in area of 56,500 sq ft. Built in 1991, it is currently the largest residential property in Los Angeles. The Manor is situated in the highly exclusive Holmby Hills district and has neighbours like the Playboy Mansion and the Los Angeles Country Club.

Surrounded by meandering pathways, the lavish estate is tastefully adorned with a central spitting fountain, exquisite 18th Century-style garden gardens including a rooftop rose garden and a citrus orchard, a swimming pool, a reflection pool, several waterfalls, spa complex, a tennis court, and sheltered winding motor court for a fleet of more than 100.

Inside the manor, the high-loft estate with 30 ft high ceilings boasts of more than 100 luxurious rooms, which houses amongst others a bowling alley, a media and projection room, a wine cellar and tasting room, a library, a gym, a humidity-controlled silver storage room, a beauty parlor and a barber shop in the 17,000 square foot attic, a gift wrapping room, and even a doll museum.
