Gucci On The Go With their New Temporary Flash Store

Luxury fashion label Gucci is bringing an all-new shopping concept to the world of luxury fashion retail with their latest temporary flash store that looks poised to set the bar for what we know as fast fashion.

The new Gucci Icon Temporary Flash Sneaker Store will be a traveling pop-up shop that will tour the world, selling a special series of limited edition sneakers. Eighteen unique designs will be available exclusively at the store, including special designs created by renowned music producer Mark Ronson, who will also provide the soundtrack for the tour.

Each pair will not only incorporate classic Gucci elements in their design, but will also come with either silver or gold dog tags, customized leather tags on the laces that will have the buyer’s initials embossed on, and special tailor-made packaging unique to each Flash Store destination.

The tour kicked off last weekend at Crosby Street in New York City with a party hosted by Mark Ronson and a host of A-list Hollywood celebrities in attendance. The store then heads south to Miami’s Design District in December, before crossing the Atlantic to London, and further east to Tokyo in 2010, with stopovers also planned for Berlin, Paris and Hong Kong.

For those who will not be able to reach the traveling store, Gucci has also launched a free iPhone app – one that will allow users to buy the limited edition sneakers from their phone, track the location of the store, and mix their own music on “Gucci Beats”, a personal turntable for your mobile device designed by Mark Ronson himself.
