Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa is found on the edge of an azure lagoon on Koh Samui and is the perfect place to cleanse your mind, body and spirit.

Kamalaya co-founder Karina Stewart (a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine) explained her philosophy: “As I see it, there are two ways in which we can approach life. One is to simply eliminate all the things we don’t like. The other is to focus on what we do like, using those things to nurture and nourish parts of ourselves that we want to develop."

They offer a range of holistic therapies including far infrared sauna sessions to stimulate circulation and increase metabolism; lymphatic drainage massage; colon hydrotherapy and Chi Nei Tsang.

The latter is a traditional Taoist abdominal massage designed to release physical and emotional stress as well as to calm the nervous system by promoting circulation to vital organs.

Their Detox programmes are aligned with Asian, healing principles and they also offer a tailored, dining menu as well as various herbal remedies and supplements.

Kamalaya offers basic, detox and rejuvenation 7-day packages starting from THB 115,306 ($3,575) which include a variety of treatments, meals, accommodation and airport transfers as well as a more comprehensive, 'Balance & Revitalise' 7-day programme from THB 148,615 ($4,600)
