Here's a first-hand look at the celeb friends of Burberry Prorsum who gathered at Hyde Park this Monday for the British heritage label's Autumn-Winter 2012 womenswear runway show, as well as some key pieces we like from the collection.
In a nod to the United Kingdom's famously drizzly weather, models strode down the runway under faux rain, clasping umbrellas in the label's signature checks. Christopher Bailey's vision for Fall this year did not disappoint: peplum jackets, cinched tweed overcoats and color-blocked bomber jacket dresses were suffused with the spicy, cinnamon warmth of a waning Autumn afternoon—camel, wheat and fawn—and juxtaposed against pops of color from the ribbon-bowed belts, bags and other wintry essentials. We love the gloves, variously studded and hued: one stand-out was the python version in a gorgeous chartreuse yellow.
Frontrow stars included Burberry's Body herself, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (below), who was swathed in a season-appropriate cropped tweed jacket and plum flared trousers.
Joining her ranks were other beautiful people the likes of Kate Bosworth, who played up her slightly quirky image with an adorable grey jumper with an owl print; Burberry S/S12 campaign faces Eddie Redmayne and Cara Delevingne; and English actress Gabriella Wilde, looking gorgeous in a very covetable plum leather overcoat.
Meanwhile, representing Asia were a multitude of big names: K-pop megastars Girls' Generation, Vivian Tsu, Jolin Tsai and Bollywood starlet Sonam Kapoor.
Here's an abbreviated version of the runway show, together with the newly released music vid by Burberry-endorsed Brit indie singer-songwriter, the very pretty and haunting Rae Morris.
