Take a good long look at the TAG Heuer Link Lady Diamond Star watch and see if it does not intrigue you. The Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer is famous for its spirit of innovation, such as the Mikrogirder in January in Geneva. As we noted in our story on the important watches of Basel World 2012, TAG Heuer did present an entirely new vision for its women’s watches, while announcing important trade news, which we will come back to.
All fans of TAG Heuer will recognize the brand’s unique link bracelet, the key identifying mark of the Link collection. For the Link Lady this year, the brand has gone a step further, with the Link Lady Diamond Star.
In its own way, this watch is as much a concept as the Mikrogirder because TAG Heuer has no information on the technical specification of the watch. What is known is that it is a time-only (hours and minutes) automatic and the rotor is designed to be larger than the movement itself. In the pictures, it is the part of the watch that looks stylized stars.
At the present time, TAG Heuer has also announced that the watch will be in 18k 5N rose gold, with 192 diamonds totaling 1.35 carats. The movement is held between two sapphire crystals to give the whole watch an ethereal feel and making the rotor look for all the world like a shower of shooting stars. This video by TAG Heuer illustrates how the watch works. Yes, that’s Cameron Diaz.
