Have yourself a right royal cuppa, with Twinings' regally named Queen Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Blend, created of course to fete Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th year on the throne.
A bit of backstory on this most English of teas: the London-based company owns the distinction of being the first tea brand to be awarded the Official Royal Warrant Holder by Queen Victoria in 1837. Since then, Twinings has been the purveyor of quality teas to every successive British Monarch, including Queen Elizabeth II.
As a tribute to the queen, this year's commemorative blend is an inspired fusion of two black tea varietals widely regarded as well, the queen of teas: India’s Assam Black Tea, globally recognized as one of the best-quality black teas, and China’s Yunnan Black Tea, noted for its superbly unique, spicy aroma.
As for the elegant packaging, an image of a Royal horse carriage creates the central label for this commemorative blend. The limited edition Twinings The Queen Diamond Jubilee Commemorative blend will be available in Singapore from June this year.
