Get Mum or Dad a box or three of these lovingly prepared mooncakes from Capella Singapore, watch them go over the moon—then keep the designer packaging as a trinket box.
Make this year's MidAutumn Festival extra festive with the first installment of the hotel's planned series of limited edition, art-inspired mooncake boxes. For 2012, the gleaming lacquered lid comes embossed with a tasteful floral print, which can be used as a serving tray and reused together with the pale wooden box as a treasure chest for your most intimate knick-knacks.
A further deal sweetener: each box has been hand-ensembled by Singaporean craftsmen, reducing the eco-conscious heritage hotel's carbon footprint. As for the dessert itself, you have the choice of Cassia's Signature mooncake, a traditional baked treat redolent with the warm spicy notes of cinnamon, floral osmanthus and tangerine peel; or the Constellation Tea, a light version infused with Cappella's distinctively floral tea leaves.
The boxes are now available at S$288 per box. If you want to indulge yourself once in a blue moon, the sweet delights can also be purchased as part of Capella Singapore's amusingly named Over the Moon package. Head over to the hotel's website to find out more.
