The original hypercar – or expensive toy for big boys if you like –gets a new lease of life with the proper reveal of the Lamborghini LP700-4 Roadster. This is of course the roadster version so it certainly screams “look at me” while also screaming with its 6.5 liter V12 engine. This car is already one of our picks for top luxury performance cars 2013 but this might not sit well with the stereotypical Raging Bull owner. Lamborghinis are generally meant for extreme performance, which the name Aventador (an infamous award-winning bull from the Spanish bullfighting arenas) implies.
Well, Lamborghini is getting with the times because we know for certain that the firm is including stop/start technology and something called cylinder deactivation for 2013. Stop/start technology and cylinder deactivation are decidedly responsible moves that dent the Aventador’s street credibility but do note that these kinds of cars make quite the big noise when they start up… A stop/start system might give this baby more bite in the sound department in the end. Do note though that the car’s cylinder deactivation system will actually shut down one bank of cylinders at speeds under 135km/h. It should still manage to top out at 217mph (a helmet might be a good idea at this speed if you take the top off) and its all-wheel drive will ensure maximum power from a standing start.
