It was a night celebrating the “Power of Creation” as Dom Pérignon hosted a private dinner in conjunction with the launch of Dom Pérignon by David Lynch Vintage 2003 Limited Edition. The night began with an exclusive dinner for 40
Lynch’s inspiration behind his design stemmed from spending two days photographing the iconic Dom Pérignon bottle in his Californian studio, which he transformed into a dark room. The essence of his creative process is reflected in the choice of venue- with its warehouse studio-esque exposed red brick, pillars and high ceilings. The theme was further emphasized by the Lynchian references and illustrations that also carried through to the menu for the night.
The cuisine was casual New York style and the courses came with quirky names such as “The Spanner”, a dish of marinated spanner crab, japanese cucumber, tomato jelly, green apple puree garnished with mountain caviar and “Sweet Revenge”, which has a refreshing Yuzu Sorbet served with pineapple and strawberry salsa and coated with coconut espuma. The meal was complemented with Dom Perignon Vintage 2003, all presented in the David Lynch limited edition bottles.
In reference to Lynch’s short film series “Rabbits”, the Dom Pérignon by David Lynch bottle was presented during the after-party by a party of human donning rabbit masks: a quirky finishing flourish that allowed guests a fleeting peek into the mind of the maestro himself.
