One of just 74 specimens of Ferrari's legendary 1960 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione ever built is set to be the star at this month's upcoming RM Auctions in Arizona.
Having just been owned by four previous drivers, this particular beauty has been exhibited extensively at Pebble Beach, the Quail and Villa d’Este, and is estimated to sell for around US$4.5 million. Described as race-ready, the multiple FCA Platinum award-winning chassis of this Ferrari runs on a three liter V12 engine that will eke out 280 bhp, impressive for a vintage built in 1960.
The RM Auctions Arizona sale will commence on January 18, with a whole fleet of superlative vehicles for car enthusiasts to admire. Among some of the remarkable models include the rare 1935 Cadillac V-12 Convertible Sedan by Fleetwood, featured in the movie "The Artist", as well as a 1968 Ferrari 365 GT 2 +2 Coupe and 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe.
