Proving that business travel and wanderlust is still alive and well, Westin Hotels & Resorts have announced that 11 new properties are scheduled to open this year in the region and beyond, bringing their total number to a neat 200 hotels.
Here's a quick breakdown of where and when you'll get to make a pit-stop at 2013's plush new temporary homes: Seven new Westins will welcome their first guests this year, increasing the brand’s portfolio to nearly 50 hotels in the Asia Pacific.
New Westin hotel openings in China this year include The Westin Haikou, The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort, The Westin Chongqing Liberation Square and The Westin Qingdao. In the other big emerging market, the Westin brand will stamp its presence in India with the opening of The Westin Chennai Velachery.
Finally, Westin will take its place among Singapore's best with the opening of the towering Westin Singapore in late 2013. "Westin is experiencing the bulk of its growth in the world’s fastest growing economies, where it has emerged as a developer darling right out of the gate," said Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader for Westin Hotels & Resorts. Recession? What recession?
