This time, the buzz is around a new “smart personalisation’ option, which should give mobile users a bit of a thrill. Each runway item comes with its own story, as all well-crafted objects do, but now you can unlock these stories by simply making the appropriate contact with your touch screen device. Each story is what Burberry promises to be an “immersive experience,” showcasing the origins of each product. Basically, you can discover the artisanal roots of what you see at the Prorsum Autumn-Winter 2013 womenswear show.
The new Burberry Runway Made to Order service allows you to order up custom-made outerwear and bags, with personalized engraved nameplates in the mix. Made to Order products will be available on Burberry.com for two weeks following the show. Delivery will be made nine weeks after any given order.
As usual, Burberry is going full-court digital on the Prorsum Autumn-Winter 2013 womenswear show. You can watch the show on all Burberry’s platforms, including Burberry.com, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest and Instagram. Chinese platforms Sina Weibo and Youku are not left out.
