Pinnacle of sound delivery: Sennheiser's Orpheus Headphones

Sure, you’ll find Carrara marble, gold and even platinum on the new Sennheiser Orpheus headphones and amplifier set’s spec sheet, but only because they’re there to enhance the aural experience.

The amplifier uses eight vacuum tubes (which give a warmer, more natural sound compared to solid-state systems) and suspends them in a block of marble to reduce airborne noise, while precious metal-plated ceramic is used for maximum conductivity and performance. In hard numbers, all 6,000 individual components work together to give you a sampling rate of up to 348kHz, which is about seven times more than a CD’s, and a frequency response between 8Hz and 100kHz. The standard range for human hearing is between 20Hz and 20kHz, which is what normal headphones logically offer.

But there is nothing normal or logical about the new Orpheus. It is the pinnacle of sound delivery, regardless of whether your measly human ears can fully appreciate it. Now all you need are tunes worthy of the sound that will resonate with your very soul.
