We know J. Crew to be a fun brand, a rule breaker where style trumps fashion and perfect is a little boring. We know them to love lots of color blocking and pattern mixing, or a tomboy on a pair of heels. So when J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler put his exclusive Manhattan pad up on the market, we figured it’s everything we imagined it would be – and then some.

The quirky, vibrant 6,226-square-foot apartment is located at the esteemed 140 Franklin Street, which many consider the finest loft building in Manhattan. The loft’s 11-foot high ceilings, theatrical arched windows, wide plank Brazilian floors, original columns and a stunning 82-foot wide living room just adds to its grandiosity.

The living room is pop of color, yet elegant, refined and evocative of the fun parties that must have traced its halls. At another lounge, an ocean blue theme splashes over the walls for that underwater vibe. In the master suite, which sits considerably away from the other bedrooms for privacy, the colors become a little more subdued, whose character hints at an old fashioned gentleman, though no less charming. A grand dining room sits across a sprawling, stainless steel Varenna kitchen with an open bar for drinks. The full-service condominium also features a billiard room, a mini library and a fitness room, plus a 24-hour doorman service.

The 5-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom pre-war loft is listed on Core NYC for $24.9 million.
