The story of the “Portuguese” watch produced by Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC is legendary: two Portuguese mariners asked IWC to produce a wristwatch with all the properties of a marine chronometer.
Though such a feat had not been accomplished at the time, IWC’s watchmakers took up the challenge. The results were so successful that the Portuguese remains in production and in demand to this day.
The modern incarnation of this classic is a handsome piece, combining an automatic chronograph function in an elegantly slim case. It is a perfect blend of sportiness and dressiness, and looks great whether you are power-lunching or weekend-brunching.
