#1. Pilot Translating Earpiece

The Pilot Translating Earpiece by Waverly Labs uses specially designed noise-canceling microphones to filter out ambient noise from the speech of someone talking. The speech is then passed through the Pilot app, where layers of speech translation technologies occur. The translation process includes speech recognition, machine translation and machine learning, then speech synthesis. The translated language is sent to the other user wearing the second earpiece. It all occurs simultaneously without interruption, as each person speaks to one another. It is currently available in five languages: English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. The company will soon be adding additional languages, including Germanic, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Slavic and East Asian.
