Jonathan Anderson Nominated At British Fashion Awards

Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson has been nominated four times at this year’s British Fashion Awards. The four nominations include two for Loewe, International Accessories Designer and International Ready-to-Wear Designer.

The annual ceremony has been held in the UK since 1989, where British designers are recognized for any exceptional contributions to the fashion industry during that year. Among the main awards include Outstanding Contribution and British Designer of the Year. The awards run on February as a subset of London Fashion Week, and are organized by the British Fashion Council.

The designer was born in Northern Ireland in 1984, where he considers his upbringing in the small town to have fuelled his desire for success. While he grew up aspiring to be an actor, Anderson revealed that the costumes became a distraction – something he started to obsess with. He later studied menswear at the London College of Fashion while working at Prada as a window dresser.

Anderson, who established his namesake label in 2008, is often lauded for his androgynous aesthetic and thought-provoking ready-to-wear collections, with notable celebrity fans including Alexa Chung, Rita Ora and Pixie Geldof.
