Karl Lagerfeld Has A Presidential Favorite

Karl Lagerfeld won’t be voting in the upcoming US Presidential election, but that’s not stopping him from having a favorite candidate. The German designer, who heads fashion houses Chanel and Fendi, stands firmly behind democratic candidate Hillary Clinton – and just in time for International Women’s Day.

"I think with the first black president, what they need now is the first woman president. That has to change, too," he said in a statement to The Associated Press after the Chanel show in Paris. "I like the idea," he said, adding that in his life, "it's Women's Day every day".

The designer recently came under the spotlight for his strong views against the See-Now-Buy-Now divide in the fashion world, deeming it “A Mess”.

The drama has since subsided, following a verdict from The Fédération Française de la Couture du Prêt-à-Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode, who rejected the move towards a new system.
