You can get a limited edition stuffed version of Karl Lagerfeld’s cat for US$545


Fans of Karl Lagerfeld’s adorable feline friend Choupette can now rejoice, since they can now own a semblance of the designer’s famous cat. Lagerfeld’s latest collaboration with plush toy company Steiff will debut an ultra-adorable stuffed toy version of the cuddly feline, who boasts an impressive Instagram presence of a record 92,000 followers and counting.

“Choupette is such a famous and beautiful cat that when this request came to me, I was not even surprised,” Lagerfeld said in a statement to the press. “Steiff is the perfect choice for this kind of collaboration. It’s the only company that has the required expertise to highlight the extreme and absolute refinement of this young princess.”

The toy goes on sale this month at Karl Lagerfeld stores and on his official website,, before it hits Steiff stores and selected retailers. Choupette the toy will be available for US$545. Only 2,000 of the limited edition Choupette plush toy have been produced. With soft white fake fur and clear blue eyes, the faux Choupette also comes with gold-plated Steiff button in one ear with an accompanying magnetic mouse in black synthetic leather for that necessary play time.

Once a pet of French male model Baptiste Giabiconi, Lagerfeld received Choupette as a gift around Christmas 2011 and never looked back. Indeed, there is no one more smitten with the cat than the owner himself, who famously told CNN in a statement, "There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals… I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat.”
