Louis Vuitton Debuts Men's Jeans and Denim Capsule

Denim is a quintessential part of any wardrobe, and any self-respecting sartorialist should arguably own some key pieces.

Debuting a striking amalgamation of the everyday wardrobe with emerging trends, Louis Vuitton’s brand new denim line takes casual dressing of contemporary times to a new level. The collection’s core staples take inspiration from Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones’ large collection of vintage jeans  and his very own interest in denim.

“I’ve been obsessed by vintage jeans since the age of 16, so this new denim line is a very special project,” says Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones. “From the start, we looked to Japan, where there are all the original looms and a great technique of indigo – the true expertise of make.”

True enough, raw Japanese denim stars the collection alongside special European fabrics, which offer its three essential fits, Slim Stretch, Slim Classic and Classic Regular, in a variety of finishes and washes.

One can expect some ‘20s inspired vintage pieces, as with its classic indigo finish with gold rivets, and monochromatic washes in tonal hardware. As with the maison’s careful attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship, each jean features a finishing touch of hand-placed, intricately embroidered LV logos.

The collection, which is available from July in selected Louis Vuitton stores and on the maison’s website, also encompasses an exclusive capsule collection that reinterprets the iconic Louis Vuitton archive and its rich trunk-making heritage, with an added injection of Jones’ denim dreams and modern contemplations.

The five-piece capsule collection is certainly made for the denim addict, with unique washes for each exquisitely detailed, handcrafted pair, inspired by five of the maison’s heritage trunks dating back to 1885 that Jones selected.

With each piece limited to a mere 101 pairs, the sophisticated capsule is surely made for the ultimate collector.
